Paediatric Services

WRHS Surgical unit incorporates a Paediatric Surgical unit two days a week (Monday, Tuesday)for children aged 0 to 16 years.

Visiting hours in the Paediatric unit are flexible. Parents are encouraged to spend as much time as they can with their children. Facilities are available for one parent to stay with their child overnight. If staying overnight with a child, stretchers are provided, however parents are required to bring their own bedding. Breakfast is supplied and other meals can be purchased at the hospital canteen.

Children should bring with them:

Toiletries, pyjamas, favourite comforter (toy, dummy etc).

An entertainment system is available to the children, with television, video and Game Boy capabilities.

Staff are actively involved in fundraising efforts to provide the Unit with additional resources and undertake educational programs with a paediatric focus to remain at the forefront of new medical advancements.
